Schuttel Dienen Speck
Mondays, 7:15 pm - 8:15 pm with Karen
The song that became the YouTube sensation with the dancing witches – literally translated from German to mean “Shake Your Bacon”.
Rationalized with my mother’s German roots, I intend to have a lot of fun with this dance! The challenge will be the intricate articulation to the rapidity of the vocals, intentionally placed “slowdowns”, swapping between performing and jamming, and managing the huge brass instrumental links – all in less than 3 minutes.
Level: Advanced
Aghadan Alqak
Thursdays, 7:45 pm - 8:45 pm with Sara
A dramatic and beautiful instrumental version of an Oum Kaltoun classic with lots of qanuun and violin.
Flowing arm and leg movements, level changes, accents and
shimmies will move us through multiple sections of rhythm changes and a short taqsim.
Classes start on September 10th.

Level: 3.5 - Intermediate / Advanced
Kizomba Belly Fusion
Wednesdays, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm with Suzanne
You will learn soft & sexy moves "inspired by" the Latin dance style, Kizomba combined with vocabulary from Belly Dance with a lot of Fusion.
This dance will be heavy on the hip and light on everything else.
Level: 3.5 - Intermediate / Advanced
Sohair Zaki Fi Baladi
Wednesdays, 7:45 pm - 8:45 pm with Valori
This choreography is rich with Egyptian Baladi expressions, juicy moves, inspiring dynamics, strong accents, soft transitions and earthy hip work.
A slow sensual, taqsim sets ups this effervescent piece and allows for work not only on technique but on expression and stage presence as well.
As the music progresses, we will develop technique and baladi pattern and movements to be able to execute them with power but feminine ease at the same time.
We will also work on charisma and stage presence for this beautiful and vivacious piece.
Classes start on September 9th.
Level: 3.0 - Intermediate
Fresh
Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm with Baby Karen
"Fresh” by Latifa is an energetic Arabic pop song that will likely get stuck in your head and is just so fun to dance to.
Danced with (mostly) American Cabaret style this choreography takes advantage of the song's variety with pockets of gooey-ness and purposeful isolations.
Level: 3.0 - Intermediate
